  1. Check HTTP and Content-Type. A failure of the whole request has its own HTTP status and an application/problem+json object.
  2. Identify the type. type identifies the problem, detail describes the occurrence, and instance provides the request path.
  3. Read the operation result. With HTTP 200, check the message status, pricing result or cancellation/deletion result of every item.

What is code used for?

code is a diagnostic code that helps support locate the error handling branch. For example, 403-2 consists of problem status 403 and internal number 2. In a batch, an item’s problem status can differ from the HTTP status of the whole response.

When reporting a problem, provide code, the endpoint and request time. Classify problems in an integration using type and the problem status. The number after the hyphen is not a public cause registry.

Sending returns a message status, pricing returns a calculation result, and cancellation or deletion returns the result of an operation on a resource. Each format describes its operation; HTTP 200 confirms that the request was processed.
